MIND DESKTOP
We are all familiar with the ubiquity of the personal computer in modern society. Unfortunately, disabilities prevent many people from standard interaction with a PC. Many research activities have been undertaken in recent years to develop technologies to enable universal access to computer systems by reducing the dependency on sophisticated physical or cognitive skills.
MindDesktop is an enabling system based on adaptive EEG devices and supervised machine learning. Its primary goal is to improve computer accessibility for people with severe disabilities.
The assistive technology (European Patent 20110008206) received extensive media coverage and was presented to U.S. President Barak Obama in 2013.
